Guests can go hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. All guests can park boat trailers and other vehicles in a separate storage area. For those who are fishing, the site offers fish-cleaning stations, fish smokers and the fish remains are removed for free. Restrooms are very clean. The owner is a kind and honest man. I will be using this park a lot. The owners are outdoors people who love managing their park. They promise a family-friendly environment and aim to help each guest have a wonderful time in this beautiful location. The Trinidad area is considered one of the most pristine areas of the Redwood Coast and is called a California Coastal National Monument Gateway. We chose Emerald Forest because of the proximity to the redwood forest and the coast. Some upgrades going on but not disturbing in the RVrs area. There are hundreds of miles of trails throughout the redwood forests and access to remote, secluded beaches. There are also local historical sites, museums, and cozy restaurants near Trinidad. We could see the ocean from the kitchen table and hear the sea lions barking. Nice place to stay. Four night stay very comfortable. Just a 35-minute drive from Eureka, you will find everything you need for a perfect vacation in the woods. The staff has a reputation for friendliness and the campgrounds are quiet and relaxing. There are flower shows, beer festivals and marathon runs that attract people to this area from all over the country. Great people, Close to the Giants. The park has 40 autobus campsites, environmental camping and group camping. HOST POSITIONS AVAILABLE April 2019 — October 2019 Hendy Woods State Park is an 845-acre redwood oasis with 92 campsites and 4 primitive cabins, offering a traditional family camping experience along with several hiking trails through two separate old growth redwood groves. The Pantoll solo has 16 campsites, and the nearby Bootjack Campground has 15 campsites. Three month commitment required. Please contact Ranger John Hunt at or call 949 494-3539.
